1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how PostBoard (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the PostBoard iOS application.
PostBoard is a workflow tool that helps creators organize photos and videos into custom album boards on an infinite dotted canvas. Users can create boards/albums, add selected media from their device gallery, and arrange items using drag-and-drop.
By using PostBoard, you agree to the practices described in this policy. Your privacy is important to us, and we aim to handle information securely and transparently. This document is provided for general transparency and is not legal advice.
2. Information We Collect
PostBoard is designed to process only the information needed to provide its features. Depending on which features are enabled in your version of PostBoard (for example: sign-in, cloud sync, analytics, crash reporting, subscriptions, or ads), the app may process the categories below.
2.1 Photos & Videos (Selected Media)
When you choose photos or videos from your device gallery:
- The app may access only the media you select (or that you allow via iOS Photos permissions, including “limited access”).
- The app may create thumbnails/previews locally to display your boards smoothly.
Purpose: To let you place media onto boards and organize it on the canvas.
Note: PostBoard does not need access to your entire library if you use iOS’s limited photo access options.
2.2 Board & Album Data (Workspace Metadata)
PostBoard may store information that represents your workspace, such as:
- Board/album names you create
- Canvas layout data (positions, ordering, grouping)
- Basic state data (created/updated timestamps, app settings related to boards)
Purpose: To save your boards and restore them exactly as you arranged them.
2.3 Account Information (If Sign-In Is Used)
If your version of PostBoard includes account features (such as Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, or email sign-in), we may process:
- Account identifiers needed for authentication (e.g., email address and/or a provider user identifier)
- Optional profile information you choose to share (e.g., display name, profile photo)
Purpose: To create and maintain your account, enable account recovery, and support cross-device use if the app provides sync.
2.4 Usage Data (Analytics, If Enabled)
If analytics is enabled, we may collect:
- App usage events (feature usage, screen flow, session events)
- Basic device/app context (iOS version, app version, device model)
Purpose: To improve performance, usability, and feature quality.
2.5 Diagnostics (Crash Reporting, If Enabled)
If crash reporting is enabled, we may collect:
- Crash logs and diagnostic information (error traces, device model, OS version, app version)
Purpose: To fix crashes and improve stability.
2.6 Purchases & Subscriptions (If Offered)
If PostBoard offers paid features via in-app purchases/subscriptions:
- Apple processes payments.
- We may process purchase status, product identifiers, and entitlement information required to unlock premium features.
- If a subscription management service is used, it may process a subscription identifier to validate access.
Purpose: To enable premium features, restore purchases, and manage subscription access.
2.7 Advertising Identifiers (If Ads/Tracking Are Used)
If PostBoard shows ads or uses tracking technologies, the app may process:
- Advertising-related identifiers (such as IDFA) and measurement signals
Purpose: To deliver ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud—depending on the ad configuration.
If PostBoard is configured without tracking, it does not use data to track you across apps and websites for advertising.
3. How Your Information Is Used
We use information to:
- Provide core features (create boards, add selected media, drag-and-drop arrangement, save layouts)
- Maintain functionality, security, and reliability
- Improve the app (analytics and diagnostics if enabled)
- Enable and manage premium features (if subscriptions/IAP exist)
- Respond to support requests and privacy inquiries
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Third-Party Services
Depending on the features enabled in your version of PostBoard, the app may use third-party services for:
- Authentication (account login)
- Cloud storage or sync (if you enable cross-device sync)
- Analytics (product improvement)
- Crash reporting (stability)
- Subscription management (premium features)
- Advertising (if ads are shown)
When a third-party service is used, it may process data under its own privacy policy. We aim to share only what is necessary to provide the service.
5. Data Storage & Security
We implement reasonable security measures appropriate to the app’s architecture, which may include:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) where network communication exists
- iOS sandboxing and platform security protections
- Access controls for backend systems if the app uses cloud services
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information from unauthorized access, misuse, and disclosure.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
- Workspace and board data is retained to provide the app’s features and can typically be removed by deleting content in the app and/or uninstalling the app (for on-device storage).
- If accounts/cloud storage exist, data is retained while the account is active and is removed upon account deletion, subject to limited legal or operational exceptions.
- Analytics/diagnostics data (if enabled) is retained for a limited period needed for product improvement and troubleshooting.
7. Children’s Privacy
PostBoard is intended for a general audience and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address the request.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights under applicable laws such as GDPR/UK GDPR and (where applicable) CCPA/CPRA. These rights may include:
- Accessing your information
- Correcting your information
- Requesting deletion
- Objecting to or restricting certain processing
- Data portability (where applicable)
- Opting out of certain data uses (where applicable)

- If required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
- In connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or asset sale), with notice where required
10. Permissions
PostBoard may request iOS permissions depending on the features you use:
- Photos: To select photos/videos and organize them into boards.
- Camera: Only if the app provides capturing media directly into a board.
- Microphone: Only if the app provides audio recording features.
- Location: Only if the app provides location-based features.
- Contacts: Only if the app provides contact-based sharing/invitations.
You can manage permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
11. Sharing / Exporting
PostBoard may allow exporting or sharing (for example, exporting selected media, board snapshots, or project files) depending on the features you use. When you export/share, the data leaving your device depends on what you choose and the destination (Files, AirDrop, social apps, cloud drives). Third-party destinations handle data under their own privacy policies.
